Law, Covenant, and Priesthood: A Pronomian Pocket Guide to Hebrews 7–10

€8.93

Author: Jacob Kutschke

Does the Epistle to the Hebrews teach that the Law is no longer useful for believers today? Did Jesus put an end to the Old Testament priesthood? Why does Hebrews seem to say that the Old Covenant is “obsolete” (Heb. 8:13)? In Law, Covenant and Priesthood: A Pronomian Pocket Guide to Hebrews 7–10, Jacob Kutschke provides a detailed and accessible look at these important questions by carefully examining what Hebrews itself has to say in its own context.

This book will show the eschatological emphases of Hebrews, the rich argument its author develops and how a careful exegesis of the Epistle leads to the Torah’s enduring religious and covenantal significance beyond the first century. It presents a view of Hebrews that, while standing in contrast to the majority perception throughout church history, is grounded in the text of the Epistle and a comparative reading alongside related passages throughout the Bible. The result is a hermeneutic that equips the reader to approach this often misunderstood and misused Epistle on its own terms and, in the words of the prophet Micah, to “know the thoughts of the Lord” and “understand his purpose” (Micah 4:12).

This book is part of the Pronomian Pocket Guide Series.
